Upgraded One UI for Android Pie One UI brings you Android Pie, with exciting new features and a whole new look and feel based on feedback from users in Samsung and Google. We recommend that you back up your important data to keep it safe before the upgrade. Some apps, including Calculator, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health, Samsung Notes, Samsung Members, and Samsung Pay, need to be updated individually after you update your OS. To use the Remote unlock function in Find My Mobile on an Android Pie device, the screen lock password (or PIN/pattern) backup process is required. So please make sure that you remember the screen lock password (or PIN/pattern) before starting the update process. If you've forgotten the password (or PIN/pattern), reset it before starting the update process. Here’s what’s new. One UI - Content, settings, and other information have been reorganized to keep you focused on the task at hand. - Interactive elements have been moved to the bottom of the screen so they're always within reach. - New designs and features such as Night mode help keep your eyes comfortable. Notifications - You can reply to messages directly in the notification panel. - Image thumbnails are included in message notifications. - In an app's notification settings, tap the switch once to turn on or off all the notifications in a category. Samsung Keyboard - New Unicode 11.0 emojis are available. - New adaptive theme changes your keyboard look based on the colors of the surrounding app. - Floating keyboard is available in all apps and has new size and transparency settings. - You can set a custom touch and hold delay. Always On Display - New clock styles have been added, including the option to show a calendar with your schedule. - Charging information has been added to let you know how much time is remaining until fully charged. - You can show Always On Display whenever the screen is off, or you can set it to show for 30 seconds when you tap the screen. Settings - Menus have been reorganized to make settings easier to find. Samsung DeX - Continue using your phone while DeX is being displayed on a monitor or TV. - Use Samsung DeX with supported HDMI adapters. No need for a DeX Station. Bixby - Bixby is all new, with a range of improvements and new features. - Swipe left from the main Bixby screen to explore the latest features and supported apps. - You can control the Bixby key in settings to decide what happens when you press or double press. Phone - You can now sort your call history by incoming and outgoing calls. - Your call history can include up to 2000 entries (increased from 500 entries). Contacts - The new drawer menu makes it easier to manage contacts from various accounts. Gallery - Photo Editor Pro's editing tools have been added to Gallery, so you can make all your edits and touchups without leaving the app. My Files - The new storage analysis tool has been added to help you monitor your storage usage and save space. - You can now show or hide items on the My Files Home screen. Samsung Health - Your daily step count will be shown in the notification panel. To hide it, press and hold the notification, then turn off Current steps. Other improvements and changes - Turn on the screen automatically whenever you pick up your phone using the Lift to wake feature. - Access Kids Home on the quick panel. - Call stickers has been discontinued. - HEIF images are now supported. - Dolby ATMOS/AC4 is supported. - LockScreen Magzine feature has been added. Settings > Lockscreen > Lockscreen Magazine - IP Call function, Open Calendar was removed - No more support IVR(Interactive Voice Response) call screen service.

Samsung Experience 9.0 upgrade with Android Oreo Samsung Experience 9.0 brings you Android Oreo, with exciting new features from Samsung and Google based on feedback from users like you. We recommend that you back up your important data to keep it safe during the upgrade. Some apps, including Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, Samsung Notes, and Email, should be updated individually before you can update your OS. Here’s what’s new. Biometrics To improve your security, features that use biometrics (face, fingerprints, and irises) are only available when you use a secure screen lock type (pattern, PIN, or password). When you switch to a non-secure screen lock type (Swipe or None), biometric authentication is suspended for unlocking and for verification in apps like Samsung Pay. If you're using biometrics now without a secure screen lock type, you'll be able to continue after the upgrade, but changing to a secure screen lock type is recommended. Quick Panel - Manage notifications for each app with notification categories (supported apps only). - Icons will be shown at the bottom of the notification panel for notifications that aren't currently visible. Home Screen - Touch and hold an app to display shortcuts to common or recommended tasks within the app (supported apps only). - Notification badges on app icons are linked with the notification panel. Clear a notification in one location, and it will also be cleared in the other location. Samsung Keyboard - The toolbar gives quick access to useful functions. - The GIF keyboard lets you send GIFs. - More high-contrast keyboards are available. System Performance - Background services are limited to improve performance and battery life. - Currently running apps will always be shown in the notification panel. Edge screen - Improved font size, color, and other settings for better Edge panel visibility. - Touch and hold the Edge panel handle to change its position. - Added 3 more Edge lighting effects and color customization for apps. Lock Screen and Always On Display - New clock styles for the Lock screen and Always On Display. - Adjust the transparency of notifications to get the look you want. Smart View - Let your phone's screen go dark when mirroring to another screen. Samsung account - Control your account settings and profile information for multiple apps. - Tap your profile picture on the main Settings page to access your profile information and account settings. Samsung Cloud - View and manage photos and notes stored only in Samsung Cloud. - Store any type of file in Samsung Cloud Drive. - Select specific items to delete or restore from your backups. - See how big each backup is and how many items it contains. Samsung Dual Messenger - Install a second copy of a messaging app so you can use two accounts at the same time. For apps that verify accounts using phone numbers, you'll need a different phone number for each account. - go to Settings - Advanced features - Dual Messenger. Find My Mobile - Back up Secure Folder to Samsung Cloud remotely when your phone is lost. Samsung DeX - See more apps at once by changing the app list view to full-screen. - Use Game launcher in Samsung DeX for a full-screen gaming experience. - Added support for 2 additional Samsung covers (LED View Cover, Clear View Standing Cover). Other improvements - Bluetooth now supports high-quality audio codecs, including AAC and Sony LDAC. - Video player includes auto repeat and 2x speed option. - Voice Recorder provides smart tips to conveniently block calls while recording. - Email lets you flag Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync emails. - Clock now includes a Landscape mode and timer sound options. - The digital clock widget goes directly to the Clock app when you tap it. - The Sohu News and Sina Finance in the edge panel will not be supported from this version. - The folder lock function is no longer supported. - LinkedIn / Samsung Reader application will be added but can be deleted as the customer wishes. - Baidu / S-Assistant application is updated but can be deleted as the customer wishes.
